And
after the sunset there is always a new sunrise. The methaphore seems
very appropriate. I have finally fulfilled my dream: "Da Fausto’s”
is my new gastronomic adventure. For years I have managed the family
restaurant "Tramonto”, tantalising our customers’ taste buds
and receiving, in return, flattering words of appreciation.
Suddenly,
I felt that that reality was getting too small, shrinking to the
point I felt soffocated. So, last December, I finally decided. I took
a painful, brave and well thought out decision. And here I am, today,
a few meters from the beach, in Via Romita n. 191, happily at ease in
the ample spaces and warm atmoshere of my new restaurant, ready to
channell all my energy in creating unforgettable new dishes.
I
smile to myself while observing the elegant set up of the dining
room, the antique tiled floors, the new spotless stoves and I feel
fulfilled, satisfied and happy. I keep on smiling while I look at
Antonio, the chef; at my aunt Anna, at Angela and Michela, twirling
around the dining room. These are my people, a happy and loyal bunch,
who decided to follow and bet on me, who decided to keep pursuing
together our shared passion for cooking. There is still time for one
more smile, the biggest of all. Today this restaurant bears my name
and, if etymology is a science to go by, it will only bring happiness
and joy.
